English for Academic Purposes is an academically structured programme designed to develop your grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking in preparation of taking any of the formal English tests recognised internationally. This programme teaches you the academic skills and examination techniques required to help you achieve outstanding results on formal English tests.

The five key sections covered by this programme are:

• 1. Grammar/Vocabulary - improve the range and accuracy of grammatical structures and vocabulary
• 2. Listening - improve general and specific comprehension
• 3. Speaking - work on all aspects of fluency, pronunciation and appropriate usage
• 4. Reading - increase speed, accuracy and comprehension
• 5. Writing - focus on structure and organisation, correct register, summarising and paraphrasing

• Classes start every Monday
• 12 week programme, though can be studied for shorter periods
• 20 hrs per week + optional 4 hrs per week conversation class or self-study class

Students must:

• Be 16 years of age or older, AND
• Hold minimum of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent, OR
• Achieve the required level on the Fern English Language grading exercise
