With a unique focus on hospitality English this programme provides skills which will enhance employment prospects in New Zealand. You will gain foundation English language skills required to work in hotels, bars, cafés or restaurants around the world. You will also learn practical skills in preparing cocktails, café style coffee and pouring wine.
English for Hospitality is ideally suited to working holidaymakers and anyone seeking a career in the hospitality industry.
The course is structured into the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students will be assessed on both general language skills and their ability to communicate in hospitality-specific contexts.
In addition to classroom-based study, students will be able to discover more about the hospitality industry through field trips, guest industry speakers, and participation in cultural events.
Fern and NZMA students share the Anzac Avenue building so you will also be able to take advantage of the realistic training environment of NZMA's Auckland Central Academy. Facilities include modern cocktail-training bars and a fully operational café with a front-of-house training area.
